People Can Fly is giving out an appreciation package for To make up for the server issues Outriders ran

Outriders has been a blast to play since launch, but the Square Enix title from People Can Fly has been anything but perfect. No game is, especially at launch. But as unreliable as the game’s servers have been over the last week, the Dev team behind the scenes and the community managers in the trenches have been top notch. Players have been appropriately vocal about the problems they’ve experienced with the game and the team has taken it all in. So what now? Enter: The first major patch for Outriders.

The popular looter shooter was unplayable for many in the handful of days after it came out as connectivity issues prevented login. The problem got so bad that PC and console matchmaking had to be disabled.

To make up for the server issues Outriders ran into after launch, developer People Can Fly is giving out an “appreciation package” which includes a Legendary weapon.

“Throughout all of this we really appreciated all your messages of support and encouragement and they helped us power through and improve the situation,” a Square Enix representative said on Reddit. “We would like to thank each and every one of you. Beyond just saying it, however, we would like to confirm that we are working on a small ‘appreciation package’ for our launch window players.”

As for the package, it will be received by all players who played Outriders between March 31 and April 11, as well as those who have been faced with a bug that erases the players’ inventory. This package will include a legendary weapon, some Titanium and an emote “Frustration”. Unfortunately there is no release date yet.

All who played Outriders between 31st March and 11th April are eligible for this appreciation package. Those who get an automatic inventory wipe restoration (there’s a nasty bug doing the rounds that wipes player inventories) also get the package.

Here’s what your highest level character will get:

A level appropriate legendary weapon.
A level appropriate amount of Titanium.
The emote “Frustration”, which is otherwise unobtainable at this moment in time. “The irony here was not intentional but is fitting,” People Can Fly said.

People Can Fly says it’s “still working through the exact details,” so the specifics of this package may change before it arrives. It’s also unclear when these freebies will get here, but I’d bet on sooner rather than later. Either way, logging in by April 11 will lock in the appreciation package, and leveling up before it arrives should in theory improve the quality of the loot you receive since it’s going to be “level-appropriate.”

First Patch:

As of today, the deployment of this patch is scheduled for next week, as we are using this week to identify as many severe issues as possible, fix them and then thoroughly test the changes across all platforms. Submission through platform holders adds on a little bit of time as well, which is why we are not able to deploy this patch any earlier.
We are doing our utmost to deliver you a stable patch as soon as possible and we are continually looking at ways to bring the patch release day earlier. This is why we are not yet committing to a patch release date, as we may still be able to release the patch before such a date.
We will let you know as soon as we have a confirmed release schedule, so please do keep an eye on our social channels and in particular our Twitter.
